It is one of the solutions that the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) is studying and implementing to contribute to ensuring electricity supply for aquaculture in the South.

Statistics of EVNSPC, in the period of 2015 – 2017, the maximum load capacity of agro-forestry-fishery component increased by an average of 9.5%; The average growth rate of commercial electricity is about 10.8%.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Duc – Deputy General Director of EVNSPC, over the past time, the Corporation has made efforts to provide adequate electricity to serve the needs of aquaculture in the South, but the electricity supply for shrimp farming still faces a problem. difficulties such as: Planning of shrimp farming areas not yet complete; the supply of electricity for seasonal shrimp farming faces many difficulties due to small-scale farming households, the simultaneous release of shrimp makes the load suddenly increase, causing a local overload; The majority of shrimp farmers use the main lighting source to run the motor to pull the fan to provide oxygen to the shrimp, leading to the overload of the regional grid, …
The Corporation has issued documents to subordinate units to research and propose to deploy the use of solar energy to supply electricity for shrimp farming. At present, a research plan to integrate solar panels with the fan motor.
With the pressure of electricity supply to shrimp farming areas in the South and Mekong Delta is very large, the construction of renewable energy projects in general and solar power in particular with appropriate scale will contributing to meeting the demand for electricity production, promoting and developing the shrimp farming industry of the region.
Along with investing hundreds of billion dong to upgrade the power grid, in recent years, the Corporation has implemented the project “Supporting electricity savings for shrimp farmers in the Mekong Delta region and some provinces. Southern region in the period of 2016-2018 ”. In particular, the two solutions “Replace U shaft bearing (oxygen generation) with roller rollers” and “Coaxial motor with fan assembly, combined with roller support. Rotating instead of U-shaped roller bearings ”has brought the value of billions of dong / year to shrimp farmers, through a pilot in Soc Trang province.
In the period of 2018 – 2019, EVNSPC continues to set up a project to pilot a new solution “replacing high-performance electric motors, combining speed governors with roller replacement and coaxial fan assembly with motor shaft” for with shrimp farmers in Soc Trang, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces. This is a combination of the new model and two models that have been proven effective in Soc Trang province.
